approval to go ahead and develop an enlarged curriculum. One day, after a particularly difficult time at a Board meeting, Dr. Talbot called me up to his office and said, "Sam, I want to counsel you. You're not getting any place with the Board with this idea of yours of moving into a Bible College concept. All you're doing is antagonizing the members of the Board. I would earnest!y recommend that for the immediate future, and for the foreseeable future, you forget making any requests to the Board in connection with this Bible College concept. You go and answer any questions they have, but don't present anything to them. Just let them rest awhile before you try to push anything further." We talked a little while and I said, "Okay, if that's what you think ought to be done, I'll do it." But I left absolutely downhearted. I wondered if I should even come back to the school the next day. I was ready to throw in the sponge and leave, but I didn't get any peace with the thought of leaving. So I stayed on. But I was totally downhearted
