Harassment, Discrimination, and Abusive Conduct Prevention

Using case studies and group discussions, this AB 1825 and AB 2053 compliant workshop explores the consequences of sexual harassment on the individual and the organization. We’ll discuss the important elements of carefully and correctly handling sexual harassment issues and complaints. We’ll review the legal definitions of sexual harassment and employment discrimination, learn how to appropriately handle sexual harassment complaints, discuss the negative impact of abusive conduct in the workplace, and management’s legal obligations.

Creating Job Descriptions FOR: Anyone responsible for creating and maintaining job descriptions

Harassment, Discrimination and Abusive Conduct Prevention FOR: Anyone who acts as a supervisor DURATION: 2 Hours LANGUAGES: English, Spanish Using case studies and group discussions, this AB-1825 and AB-2053 compliant workshop explores the consequences of discrimination, abusive conduct and harassment on the individual and the organization. This course is required by California law within six months of hire and then every two years for anyone in a supervisory role.

Develop safer forklift operators with OSHA compliant training. You will receive a certificate upon completion of training.

Pesticide Safety / Worker Protection Standard (WPS) Training FOR: Employees at all levels DURATION: 1 1 / 2 –2 hours LANGUAGES: English/Spanish Exposure to pesticides can have dangerous health effects. This course reviews the dangers of pesticide exposure, emergency first aid and decontamination procedures, as well as restrictions on field entry and posting. Personal Protective Equipment Training FOR: Employees at all levels DURATION: 1 hour (varies depending on class size) LANGUAGES: English/Spanish Learn about regulations that require employers to protect their employees fromworkplace hazards such as machines, work procedures, and hazardous substances that can cause injury. Tractor Operator and Other Equipment Training FOR: Supervisors, key operators DURATION: 2 hours (varies depending on class size) LANGUAGES: English/Spanish This course offers OSHA-compliant training and coaching to develop safer agriculture equipment operators.

Fire Safety Training FOR: Employees at all levels DURATION: 1 hour (varies depending on class size) LANGUAGES: English/Spanish Learn how to protect yourself and prevent fires from occurring by understanding the origins and sources of fires, and how to respond when a fire emergency occurs. Slip, Trip, and Fall Prevention Training FOR: Employees at all levels DURATION: 1 hour (varies depending on class size) LANGUAGES: English/Spanish Prevent workplace injuries from slips, trips, and falls by reviewing existing regulations and recommended safe work practices. FDA’s Produce Safety Rule In promulgating the Food Safety Modernization Act (FSMA), the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) established the Standards for the Growing, Harvesting, Packing and Holding of Produce for Human Consumption or, as it is commonly called, the Produce Safety Rule. The Produce Safety Alliance (PSA) Grower Training Course is one way to satisfy the FDA’s Produce Safety Rule requirement outlined in § 112.22(c) that at least one supervisor or responsible party for your farm must have successfully completed food safety training at least equivalent to that received under standardized curriculum recognized as adequate by the FDA. AgSafe and Western Growers are hosting several courses in 2018.

Listeria Monocytogenes Intervention & Control Workshop FOR: Packinghouse or fresh-cut operation’s quality assurance, food safety, sanitation, production, operations, maintenance and/or engineering staff member Western Growers has partnered with United Fresh and PMA to offer this workshop. This program has been specifically designed for the produce industry. During this 1.5 day event, attendees will learn from FDA, academia and industry experts in general sessions on sanitary design, sanitation best practices and environmental monitoring.
