those opportunities. This does not mean a myopia to the fact that there are challenges and consistent issues that must be confronted. We know that we have concerns on the Campus. We are not pretending that there are no issues here. The direction I seek is such that I want staff to be aware that we are aware of them, and that we really want to work on improving these areas. So it is less about the sick buildings and failing infrastructure and more about the people who work under those conditions. I know some people probably don’t feel valued but their commitment to the Campus is what we must continue to cherish and build. I think it’s good to create that kind of balance so that people do not think that we are living above their heads but that we are really in tune with what is happening on the Campus. And most of all that we really want to do something, whether we are restricted financially, or restricted by human resources.

It shifted the optics of the ivory tower to “all of us in this together…let us take from you what you do best”. We need to continue positioning the University so that it is more warmly received by all who need our services. Epilogue from the Principal We ended in July 2022 in a different place from where we started in August 2021, and we must never go back. I used to worry about what would happen if the University closed, and I still have that worry. I am now less worried about it closing, but more worried about it maintaining the opportunity to create the differences, the new concepts, the thoughts, to be the leader that the country and region needs. We need to stop fighting the fires at our ankles and look up to the sky and find where there are bigger things for which we seek. For me this has been a journey and I think it is important that others get the opportunity to learn and grow. We need to continue to create
