THESE ARE THE PRECAUTIONS WE ARE TAKING

We understand that there is a lot of fear and uncertainty during this time. However, we can assure you that we care taking the necessary steps to make sure our patients are as safe as possible while they are being treated at our clinic. For starters, we will only be allowing 10 patients in our clinic at a time, as recommended by the Centers for Disease Control. This will limit the amount of people congregating in the same area at once and greatly decrease the risk of anyone passing any contagions to fellow patients. Additionally, we will be following strict sanitary protocols by making sure every surface in our clinic is thoroughly cleaned and wiped down at all times. This will decrease the risk of any potential germs lingering on surfaces. 1. Staff are wearing gloves and face masks to reduce the spread of germs. 2. All staff, patients and those entering the facility are screened using questionnaires and temperature scans. 3. Patient progress is monitored closely with recommendations to progress to telemedicine video conferencing for virtual visits. Although we know the hesitation is still there when entering a public place, we would like to bring you some peace of mind in knowing that we are taking health protocols very seriously and will be doing our very best to ensure the highest levels of cleanliness and caution at all times. IMMUNITY BOOST VEGAN BEAN SOUP

Breathing for Health. Stress and anxiety change the way we breathe. In fact, breathing is a learned behavior that develops over our lifetime and is influenced by the physical and emotional strains we encounter. When we have poor breathing patterns, we change our body

INGREDIENTS • 1/4 cup extra virgin olive oil • 1 red onion, diced

• 4 garlic cloves, minced • 2 medium carrots, diced • 2 tbs ginger, finely grated • 4 cups lima beans (cooked or canned) • 1 tsp turmeric powder • 1.5 L (6 cups) vegetable broth • 1 small bunch of Tuscan kale, roughly chopped • Salt & pepper to taste DIRECTIONS

chemistry and ultimately our ability to utilize oxygen and cause our body to enter a fight or flight response. Luckily our breathing is also based on a positive feedback loop that allows you to change the way you breathe for the better. There are simple techniques to improve your breathing, reduce your anxiety, and optimize your chemistry. Start by placing your hands on your belly and feel your expansion when you breathe in. If you are like most people, a deep breath equates to lifting your shoulders and breathing through your upper chest. Your resting breathing should actually cause your belly to expand and not require your shoulders to raise. We call this diaphragmatic breathing or belly breathing. When you belly breathe, you are improving the ability of your lungs to expand and exchange oxygen and carbon dioxide. The correct exchange is needed to improve your body chemistry and move you towards relaxation. When our oxygen and carbon dioxide gas levels are optimized we feel more energetic, have a clearer mind, and are able to improve our concentration. Contact our office for more information about the Breathing Science Institute and how you can breathe a better you.

In a large saucepan, heat the oil and onion on medium heat until onion has slightly browned. Add in garlic and cook for another 1-2 minutes, followed by carrots, ginger, beans, and turmeric cooking for a further 5-7 minutes. Once the ingredients are well combined, pour in the vegetable broth. Bring to a boil and simmer for 10 minutes. Add in kale and season to taste. Once the kale softens a little, the soup is ready.
