PAYROLL PETS

Modern life is incredibly busy and combining work and home life can be a balancing act. Pets can really help our mental wellbeing and help us find some solace and stability in difficult times.

Here are just a few of your wonderful furry and feathered friends...

Name: One Rose (Rose to her friends) Sent by: Cybill Watkins MCIPP MBCS, product legislation manager, Zellis “Rose thinks all humans have her favourite treats in their pockets. She is my escape from the crazy world of payroll and helps me with the quirks of my autism and attention deficit hyperactivity disorder. Relaxation comes from hours of fun in the countryside.”

Name: Chico the Chihuahua Sent by: Chloe Townley, project manager, CIPP

“Meet Chico the Chihuahua. He’s the definition of a velcro dog and is constantly sitting on my lap, the desk or window, watching while I work. He can’t decide whether he is a dog, a cat or a rabbit, as he is either tightrope walking across the narrowest surfaces or jumping in the air up to hip height! If he is not doing either of these things he is tucked up in a heated blanket, snoozing.”

Name: Joey, Monika, Rachel and Ava Sent by: Libby Stubbs Assoc CIPD, people advisor, Aero Tec Laboratories Ltd

“Joey is a horsefield tortoise and is named after Joey Tribbianni from the American television show, Friends. He has an attitude like no other and absolutely hates his baths. He loves nothing more than roaming around a flowery plant pot in the summer and is aspiring to be a climber in later life; I often find him scaling the decorations in his house. “Monika and Rachel are leopard geckos, named after Monika Geller and Rachel Green (also from Friends, of course). They will do anything to escape their vivarium and love throwing their crickets out for their mum and dad to find around the house! “Ava is the loudest dog on the street, always having to get the attention of passers-by and never stopping until she’s got a treat from everyone. She’s so loved and even won a professional photoshoot a few months ago. I must say, she was the biggest poser.”

If you’ve submitted your payroll pet to us and they’re not included, you’ll see them in a future issue of Professional .
