DESIGNING A NEW DECADE THE FIRST RESOLUTIONS OF THE 2020S
This January, we're kicking off not just a new year, but a brand-new decade! Everyone at APN Physical Therapy is thinking about how they’re going to start this new decade off right. Here’s a list of our team’s resolutions! My New Year’s resolution is to take it one day at a time. I have a bad habit of worrying about the future or dwelling on the events of the past, but I have no control over either of these things! Instead, I want to be in the present and live life to the fullest. This is easier said than done, but I think the key is reminding myself that I only have one life to live. I don’t get a do-over, so I need to take advantage of each day I have. If I catch myself ruminating on the past or fretting over the future, I use it as a chance to be more mindful about the present. It’s more of a mental goal than anything else, and it’s one that will help me embrace each day.
often on Sundays. I believe the best way to improve your life is by surrounding yourself with good energy and good people. My church has always been a really positive place, where God comes first and people support each other. Having more positivity in my life can only make things better.

I don’t usually make New Year’s resolutions. It’s just not something I’ve ever done. But this year, I’ve started looking at my long-term plans. My boyfriend and I want to buy a house in the next two years, so this year my goal is to save money. I don’t save a dollar ever, and that has to change if we’re going to save enough to put a down payment on the house. The first step is to save what I make from my part-time job. By living off what I make working full time here at APN, I should be able to stash my paycheck from my part-time job at the mall. That will mean cutting down on nonessentials, which is probably something I should do anyway. We want to buy a starter home here in south Jersey, close to my parents. Ideally, it will be a place that needs a little work so we can fix it up and make it our own. We’d love to learn how to flip houses.
I feel like I’m always working, so 2020 is the year I’m going to take a really good vacation. I don’t know where I’m going yet, but I have a few places in mind. The most important thing is for the trip to be relaxing. I want to take the kind of vacation where you relax, rejuvenate, and come back ready to take on the world! This year, I'd also love to take zoology classes. I’ve always loved animals and want to learn more about them. Getting into zoology would be so much fun.

This year, I’m going to take time to invest in myself and work on my life. I’ve always worked hard to be a giver and help others, but I know I need to take better care of myself. After all, it’s hard for me to take care of other people if I’m running on empty.
