"Everyone was so nice. They were genuinely excited to see me and willing to help with anything I needed, even little issues like small bed adjustments or replacing a filter,” says Andrea. “The leasing office staff were super excited every time I would walk in the door. Whatever I needed, they helped me.” Thankful and On the Mend Today, Kierstyn is thriving. While she continues to visit Vanderbilt monthly for follow-ups and tests, her strength is steadily returning. She has undergone physical therapy to regain her mobility and energy and is excited to resume her senior year in January as a biomedical engineering major.
"She’s getting better every day," Andrea says with pride. "The further we get from the transplant, the closer she gets to being 100%."
As Kierstyn continues her journey of recovery, Andrea remains profoundly grateful for the sanctuary Open Arms provided. She also expressed heartfelt appreciation for those who supported her family during this trying time.
“First, I want to thank everyone at the MAA Charlotte community, from the maintenance techs to the office staff, and in particular, the Assistant Property Manager, Chelsea Johnson, and leasing consultants Kailey Sheffield and Zane Wilkinson,” Andrea expresses. “A big thank you to Beth Johnson, Executive Assistant and Open Arms Representative, who was always there assisting with everything Open Arms-related. Finally, my family and I would like to thank every one of my coworkers in Accounts Payable and GL Accounting, including Terri Farley, Senior Treasury Analyst; Jackie Meadows, Executive Assistant; Koresa Taylor, Director Operational Accounting; and Steven Brodkey, VP Accounting, for your prayers, texts, cards, and special gifts,” Andrea lists.
“Everything you did for me made it easier for me to be there for Kierstyn. I can never thank you enough!”
