Session 14: Glossary Updates (12/12/24)
Objective: To provide an overview of the process for glossary updates. Patrick did a walkthrough of glossary update instructions drafted by Insignia/Synergy, highlighting key points as described below. That updated document will be provided to the CMS NTP team next week. Here’s a high-level summary of the training session: E-Course Master Glossary Spreadsheet The glossary update process begins and ends with the E-Course Master Glossary (Excel file), which is maintained in the Admin & Compliance Resources folder on Confluence. Topics covered in this part of the walkthrough include: • How glossary update decisions are made • What’s included in the E-Course Master Glossary (i.e., column headers are Term, Course #, Definition, Short Version, and Notes) • Options for sorting the information in the spreadsheet (by term or by course, for example) • Review team vs. implementation team roles in the glossary update process Glossary Updates: Review Team Process During Course Updates • Make sure the glossary terms and definitions for a course to be updated are included in the spreadsheet. • Make sure each glossary term is underlined on first use within a screen (as appropriate) in the marked-up transcript and in the FAQ. • The E-Course Download Update SOP (provided earlier as a supplement to the E- Course Annual Update SOP) describes the steps for creating or updating a Glossary download. 0:07 Glossary Updates: Implementation Team Process During Course Updates • Confirm that each glossary term is underlined on first use within each screen (as appropriate). • In Storyline: Update on-screen text as needed and import the glossary terms (as a .CSV file) to update the glossary drop -down.
