38 The current version is always at the top of the list, with earlier versions listed in reverse order:
Tip: Keep the file names the same as versions are updated in Confluence —avoid adding dates or initials. It’s not necessary since confluence manages the version history for you, allows you to add comments about changes, and includes the date each version was posted. 0:10 Uploading Files to Confluence Open the version history and you’ll see Preview, View, Properties, and Delete buttons, as shown at the bottom of the screenshot above. T here are two options for uploading files: Option 1 (use this method): Upload a file to Confluence from your computer as a new version of a file. Even if the file on your computer has a different name (e.g., initials and dates at the end of the file name), it will upload and save to Confluence under the file name that’s already in Confluence. Option 2 (avoid this method): If you drag and drop a file from your computer to Confluence, it will “add” that file with the new name (instead of uploading it as a new version of an existing file —so it’s best to avoid the “drag-and-drop” method for uploading, unless you intend to start a n ew file with its own version history. Properties Under Properties, you can rename the Parent title of a file, if you need to do that. When you upload a file, you’ll have an option to add comments if you want:
