F . our Mile Historic Park is a unique 12-acre living history museum nestled along Cherry Creek, just four miles from downtown Denver. At the heart of the Park stands the Historic Four Mile House, Denver’s oldest standing structure, built in 1859. Once a stagecoach stop along the Cherokee Trail, this beautifully preserved house and the surrounding grounds transport visitors back through Colorado’s history. The Park offers a rich blend of hands- on learning, scenic landscapes, and experiences perfect for families, school groups, and history enthusiasts. Guests can tour the historic house, explore authentic replica structures, visit with horses, goats, chickens, pigs, and even try their hand at gold panning. Four Mile Historic Park also serves as a vibrant community hub, hosting seasonal festivals, field trips, educational programs, and family-friendly events throughout the year. Signature offerings include holiday markets, historical reenactments, and the popular “Bright Nights at Four Mile” light displays. The Park is open Wednesday–Sunday from June 1–December 31 and Friday–Sunday from January 1–May 31, and welcomes guests of all ages and offers accessible facilities, group tours, and affordable memberships.
