YRCAS Glossary of Terms
The Youth Advisory Council is an important part of York Region’s Children’s Aid commitment to ensuring that children and youth in care have a voice in the decisions that affect their lives. The council provides a platform for young people to share their experiences and perspectives on the services provided by YRCAS, and to suggest ways in which these services can be improved .
The YRCAS Glossary of Terms is a guide that provides definitions of terms that are commonly used in the context of a youth’s experience in care. The guide is intended to help youth in care understand the language used by their social workers and other members of the YRCAS or A Guide to Understanding Child Welfare and Protection Terminology for Youth.
