Matilde Romagnoli is an Italian artist who arrives in Belgrade from Munich and will present her solo exhibi- tion entitled “Sun Beneath” at cinema Balkan from 9 th to 30 th September. Forming the central focal point of the exhibition is an installation around which a position has been created for a monumental bronze sculpture represented by a double self-portrait. It is interesting to note that Matilde completes the entire creation process independently, including modelling, casting, breaking the mould and carrying out the finishing works on the bronze. This double self-portrait, depicted in nudes, represents the perfect aca- demic study of the body, but with the “burden” of carrying its own figure on its back.
