„JA SAM SAMO KEN“ / “I’M JUST KEN” Gosling je tražio da peva / Gosling asked to sing Protagonista filma „Barbi“ odmah je zavoleo i razumeo pesmu dajući joj dozu emotivnosti koju niko nije očekivao / Barbie’s male lead immediately understood and fell in love with the song, providing it with a dose of emotionality that no one had expected
Gervig i Baumbah nece smejati u lice.

WHEN SEVEN-TIME GRAMMY WINNER MARK RONSON first read Greta Ger- wig and Noah Baumbach’s Bar- bie script, he immediately con- nected with Ken. “You really fall in love wi- th this hapless, but immedia- tely sympathetic figure,” Ron- son says. “I instantly had this idea for this lyric: ‘I’m just Ken / Anywhere else I’d be a 10’. It just seemed funny. It felt a li- ttle bit emo, like, this poor guy. He’s so hot, but can’t get the ti- me of day.” When Ronson first wrote the lyric “Is it my destiny to live and die a life of blond fragility?” he wasn’t imagining that Gosling would be singing the song. He was just hoping that Gerwig and
Baumbach wouldn’t laugh in his face. But Gerwig was a fan, and she soon passed along the messa- ge that Ryan Gosling, who played Ken, was too. In fact, he related to the song so deeply that he asked to perform it in the film. Ronson flew to England to record Gosling’s vocals. And not only did Gosling hit all the no- tes, he brought an emotionality to the performance that Ronson didn’t anticipate. “He really got [that] it had to walk this line of not being parody, cause obvio- usly, the song is also kind of ri- diculous at times. So, he was re- ally amazing, and when he really did start hitting the big notes, I was like, this dude is a vocal powerhouse,” revealed Ronson speaking to Vanity Fair recently.
