DURHAM NAT I ON Welcome SATURDAY, NOVEMBER 7, 2026 | 5:30 PM | AT THE RANCH, KATHRYN, NORTH DAKOTA
GREETINGS AND WELCOME TO THE 16TH ANNUAL DURHAM NATION SALE! What a year of extremes. As I type this, we have actually greened up and have some water standing again. One would never know we had just experienced our driest summer in the last 40 years, prior. Through it all, we adjust, adapt, persevere, and, most importantly, charge on! The Consignors to this sale understand all of that. Frankly, we have all done those things as stewards of the great breed of cattle we center on...there were many years of adjustment, adaptation, perseverance, and, most importantly, improvement. The result? Interest and demand for Shorthorn Cattle has never been greater! Why? They are adaptable to a variety of environments, possessing improved convenience traits coupled with desirable dispositions. It’s why we have now sold in excess of 150 bulls off our property in the past year.
It’s why females from this sale will sell all over the lower 48, Canada, & Mexico. It’s why our genetics are utilized around the world. Plain and simple, it’s about the cows...Shorthorn Cows. Now the offering. It’s 1 of 1. No where else in the world does diversity, quality, and, volume converge to create the largest Shorthorn event of the year. This year’s set is truly incredible. The heifer calves, best ever, and it’s not even close. The breds...quality abounds on every page, representing the freshest genetics in the breed both in get and service. The depth of the quality in the Bull Division has never been greater, with several Herd Sires worthy of taking up residence at the best Herds in the Nation. Last, but certainly not least, the Genetic Offering this year—EPIC. Never before have we truly unlocked the vault with regard to our frozen genetics along with offering the right to flush several of the greatest Shorthorn Cows in the world.
We hope you can take time from your busy schedules and come see it. I trust you will not be disappointed. The Cows. Herd Bulls. Northland Sires. The Class of Durhams in the Dakotas 2027. All of them, just a few miles South of Kathryn, ND, USA. Next, the auction. I can’t describe the feeling of seeing all the cars in the yard, along the Highway, wherever we can fit them. The barn full. Old friends uniting. New ones meeting, often from all over the globe. People I never expected to show interest in America’s First as I look out over the crowd. It is beyond humbling and grown into something I never could’ve imagined... further proof the American Dream is, in fact, alive and well.
I hope you come see for yourself. DURHAMS FOREVER!
