Attention incoming 6 grade parents!! th Arizona State Department of Health requires all children to receive a Tdap Booster and a Meningococcal Vaccine when they turn 11. Please send your updated immunization records to faith.lavoie@basised.com. All students are expected to have a completed BASIS Ed Extracurricular packet and a completed CAA Doctor’s physical 48 hours prior to tryouts or 1 week prior to the first practice (if no tryouts are required)

A Note from the Head of School
Dear Parents and Students, We are getting ready for a great year ahead, full of events that have made the BASIS Ahwatukee community come together to get to know each other and celebrate all that makes us unique! Through these community events, we are able to truly became a BAMily (BASIS Ahwatukee Mustang Family). This week, we welcomed new teachers to our campus. Next week, all of our teachers, new and returning, will be coming back to campus to start planning a successful year for all. This part of the year is always filled with excitement and plenty of energy. Speaking of energy, two of our most energized events are coming up: We are preparing to welcome all families to the Back to School Bash on July 28 ; this event is quickly followed by the students’ frist day back on campus, July 31 . We cannot wait to see you and your family at the Back to School Bash for we are equally as excited to start the fresh school year. th st Outlined in this memo is a lot of important information that will help you and your family be ready for the first days of school. School Supply Lists Grades 4-8 School supply lists are designed with a student’s success in mind. Teachers design their lists to help students stay organized for the rigor of our courses and be prepared to study for cumulative exams. Students should have all supplies purchases, labeled, and ready to use by the second week of school. Grades 9-12 Students will be given the supply list on the first day of school. Students should come with a folder, paper, and pens on the first day of school. Donations Additionally, we appreciate your help in supporting our school community by donating school supplies during the Back to School Bash or throughout the school year. You can drop off the supplies or have them delivered (through Amazon, Target, Walmart, etc.) to the front office during open office hours. Lockers & CJs Lockers
Students in all grades are assigned a locker at the beginning of the school year for books, supplies, and personal belongings. Students are not allowed to carry a backpack/bookbag with them during the school day. Students pay an annual locker rental fee that will be charged to your Blackbaud account. The locker fee is $20 and will be available for purchase in Blackbaud starting July 11 . th Since locker organization is an important part of helping a student be on time to class with the proper materials, it is recommended that all students have a locker shelf in order to maximize their locker space. A 12-inch locker shelf is recommended. The locker dimensions are 10" wide, 35" tall, and 15" in depth. Please see the next page for an example. To purchase a shelf from Amazon, please follow this link. Please note: 4 grade students will receive their locks after they have had the time to be provided the proper training and organizational skills. Also, we do not allow students to have a rolling backpack on campus as it poses a tripping hazard in the hallways and will not fit into the locker with all the required school supplies. th Communication Journal (CJs) Communication journals (CJs) will be available for $15 in Blackbaud start July 11 CJ’s will be available for pickup at the Back to School Bash. th.

Pick Up & Drop Off Procedures
Drop off Procedures Students should arrive at school at least 10 minutes prior to the start time of first class Students cannot be dropped off before 7:00 a.m. One way traffic flow, 5 mph speed limit Use outside lane for exiting Students can only enter through the north doors When cars have stopped along the green curb, students should exit cars
Pick Up Procedures Cars should follow the same traffic flow for pickups as they do for drop offs Please show placard with your student’s name and grade level in your front, right dashboard Please follow the directions of the staff on duty to ensure safety for all students All students will exit the north door only
Early & Late Bird
Early Bird: Before School Program The Early Bird program serves those parents/guardians who need to drop off their child before school begins. Doors to the school will open at 7:00 a.m. All students will be supervised in the multipurpose room (MPR) and dismissed 10 minutes before their first period. Early Bird is designed to serve as an early study hall. Students are expected to use this time to work quietly. There is no fee for Early Bird. Late Bird: After School Program The Late Bird program is a voluntary, fee-based extension of the school day available to all students. Students are provided a supervised environment to complete homework, socialize with friends, and have outdoor recess when available. Late Bird will begin on the first day of school and is scheduled Monday-Friday from 2:45-5:30 p.m. on regular school days and until 5:30 p.m. on early release days. There will be no late Late Bird on the last day before winter break and the last day of school. Students are permitted to wait in late bird at no charge until their sibling’s designated dismissal time. Late Bird Fees Daily Drop in Rate: $30.00 per day Pick up Fines: $45.00 flat fee starting at 5:30 p.m. and an additional $1.00/minute until the student is picked up.
Monthly Program Costs Pick up before 4:30 p.m.: $145/month Pick up before 5:30 p.m. $340/month
Annual Program Costs Pick up before 4:30 p.m.: $1350 Pick up before 5:30 p.m.: $3000

Bell Schedule At BASIS, we believe that one key to success is for all students to be in class every day. In addition, we believe that class periods should be disruption free to maximize learning for all students. When possible, we ask that you schedule your appointment before, after school, or non-school days. If it is necessary, we ask that you leave a note in the student’s CJ and that they meet you at the front office during passing periods.
Lunch
Students should come prepared each day with a nutritious lunch and necessary utensils in an insulated lunch bag labeled with the student’s first and last name. There is no access to refrigerators, microwave ovens, or utensils for students. Glass bottles and containers are prohibited for campus for safety reasons. Snacks are strongly recommended for all 4 and 5 grade students as well as all students staying for Late Bird. th th The Booster Hot Lunch Program will be back again this year. This program, which is 100% volunteer supported, brings in lunch orders from local restaurants. Booster member lunch discounts are also returning this year. Membership sign up is open on the BASIS Ahwatukee Booster website.
More details on the lunch program logistics and signups will be available on the website at the end of July.
BASIS Charter Schools offer a rigorous and accelerated education. We believe there is a direct relationship between academic success and a student’s attendance. We aim to provide every child with the tools they need to success every day. Success in the BASIS educational program requires students to attend school regularly and arrive on time to achieve their academic goals. The attendance laws of the State of Arizona also apply to both schools and parent/guardians of school-aged students. We strongly recommend that you avoid scheduling any vacations when classes are in session. Please note: Absences greater than 3 days will need to be approved by the Head of School. New this Year: BASIS Ahwatukee Athletics will be utilizing a new platform called Bound for student athletic registration. All students must register on Bound before participating in athletics. Additionally, all required paperwork must be submitted in hard copy to Ms. Tolzman or the front office. Mustang Athletics
Please Note: All athletic fees will continue to be paid through Blackbaud.
All students are expected to have a completed BASIS.ed Extracurricular Packet and a completed CAA Doctor’s Physical 48 hours prior to tryout or 1 week prior to the first practice (if no tryout is required). If these forms are not turned in completed with both parent and doctor signatures, your student will not be permitted to try out for that sport or participate. Students must turn in a new physical for the 25-26 school year. Once programs that the student is interested in participating in or trying out for on the top of the form, this will help with office organization. There are participation fees associated with each sport. There are no sibling or multisport discounts. All areas are expected to be completed or the form will not be accepted.

4th-6 Graders th BASIS Athletics is excited to be offering Sports Development Programs for 4 - 6 grade students. These are skill related practices once a week to work on various sports related skills and conditioning. This is a great option for students wanting to build their current skill sets or even try out a sport for the first time. No experience is necessary! A student may choose to participate in both sport options in a season if interested. Spots are filled on a first come basis. There are only 30 spots available for each option. Sports physicals are NOT required for the Sports Skills Development clubs. th th Sports Skills Development Club

The Booster’s Executive Board wants to welcome new and returning Booster members and all BASIS Ahwatukee families back for a successful 2025-2026 School year. BASIS Ahwatukee Booster is a parent run organization that supports the school by providing a volunteer ran lunch program, planning staff/teacher appreciation, participating in the planning of community events, and raising funds. Please consider becoming a member by volunteering and offering your support in the many activities on campus.

Carpool roster and a Boosters phone directory (There is an opt out option as well) to connect you with follow Booster families and friends. Maintain a strong connection to the BASIS Ahwatukee family and school community Keep up with all the FUN BONUS EVENTS hosted by the BASIS Ahwatukee Boosters Support teachers and staff

Volunteers Needed Opportunities to volunteer for the school are limited as we are a closed campus. If you are interested in helping the boosters with their lunch program, please reach out directly to the boosters. Help is needed Monday-Friday from 10:00 a.m. - 1:30 p.m. No experience is needed. This is a great way to get to know other parents and their families. In addition, boosters need help planning and working at community events, teacher appreciation, and other parts of the organization that supports the school. A signup for volunteering will be sent out in the next memo. 4 and 5 grade field trips are in January and May. This will be another opportunity to volunteer for the school as a chaperone. More information will be sent out at a later date. th th
