The 10th Annual Golf Tournament

The early hours of the day were very unsettling – thunder, lightning and heavy rains; BUT, the universe responded to our pleas, and the skies cleared in time to make a start to the golf course. The drive was as pleasant as remembered, especially as the sunshine began to shimmer off the rain soaked trees and fields. To the very last moment, activity was happening with the organizers and staff, hoping that everything that needed to be accomplished was and in time for Shot Gun. There were still guidelines to be followed but there was also an air of contentment that we were able to provide everyone with opportunities to hear and enjoy other voices. What a great group came out to join us. We are so grateful for your friendship and support. It is always amazing to welcome so many of our old friends and incredible to have the opportunity to expand our friendships. I think it is safe to say we enjoyed this wonderful day of camaraderie. We thank everyone who came out to meet and greet on this day. The dedication of our members to their clients was never more evident. Some were unable to join us at the last moment as meetings unexpectedly cropped up and others took some time away from the game for meetings or calls for service. They are commended for the consideration they provide. On the course, some of our sponsors charmed the players by setting up some fun things to do along the way and the sounds of laughter spread across the course – such a welcome melody after so many months of quiet solitude. Despite all hopes that one of our players would make magic and get a “ Hole in One ”, that did not come to pass – perhaps next year? Thanks to Selectpath Insurance and Intact Insurance for sponsoring these two appealing options. Even with the experience we have to pull off a tournament, it takes many hands. Thanks so much to S ean Eglinton and Chris DiPietro for their very positive leadership and persistence. Even though this was our 10 th and these two directors have taken the lead on them, the amount of work involved does not diminish. Throw in a pandemic and new uncertainties arise. So kudos to them both for getting the job done and making it look so easy. While the players made their way through the course Lyndsey McNally from CWB Maxium Financial and Jessica Scott from Thorne Property Management Ltd. assisted with setting up the prize table. Thanks to both of them for their hard work, done in such a joyful manner. One of the leading factors in the Administrator ’ s position is to meet and get to know so many more who share like attitudes, case in point Lyndsey and Jessica. It was truly delightful to work with them. We were also pleased with the assistance and pleasantness of the staff at Pine Knot Golf & Country Club. Thanks to all of them for sharing their cheer and for making the course so beautiful to be entertained at. See elsewhere in this publication to check out all the sponsors and teams that we are so grateful to. They

brought sunshine into our lives by their support and generosity. If proceeding with the tournament as planned wasn ’ t exciting enough, surprises are always welcome and do happen, sometimes while we are doing the countdown to the event. Mere days before the tournament. Cohen Highley LLP and Edison Engineers Inc. merged to offer a team of 4 - entry to the tournament.
