fer to work on native owned land. When we went into Alaska, we didn’t know anyone. Curt Freeman intro- duced us to Doyon. “For us, ESG is working collec- tively with native communities to do things the right way. We want to meet before acquiring property. And we’ve formed great relationships that way.” The Tectonic motto is “The Shift in The Game” and shapes how the company operates, he added. “We were formed with the idea of doing something differently. We looked at all thigs that challenge a project and ask…’what Can we do better?’ How can we take risks and mitigate them? “The shift in the game starts with us. We want to look in mirror and ask, ‘Are we proud of what we do?’ “It starts with conversations on day one, not after you’ve drilled

50,000 meters.” Doyon is the largest single share- holder in Tectonic Metals. Their agreement with Tectonic is unique in that it was one of the first of its kind, whereby Native Alaskans ben - efit directly from the resources on their land and are an integral part of the company’s decisions. “That to me is right approach, building a house together on day one. It helps raise capital and it holds me accountable. Not too many compa - nies have Alaska native sharehold- ers, and (Doyon is) our single largest shareholder. We are honored that this corporation gives us the oppor- tunity to work on their land. It’s a testament to their belief. “The Big ESG initiatives are great, but it’s the little things that count. It starts with asking what you need, not telling you what you need.”

Reda sees no conflict between re- sponsible mining and respect for the environment. “Mining is pro-environment! “If you are a geologist, you must love nature. That applies to oil and gas and others too as well as mining. They can coexist. “On the flip side, we’re not build - ing a playground. If you build any- thing, there is an environmental im- pact. So, the question is, can you do it properly? “We have children. We love the environment. It’s an honor to be in this state, a privilege not to be tak- en for granted.”
