So why are we sending our resource production overseas where they don’t care about clean air or clean water? Why are we propping up dictators and bad actors with American dollars as prices go through the roof? That’s what I mean when I talk about social engineering. These manmade policies are causing all kinds of artificial gyrations and dis - ruptions in people’s lives It’s historically been natural disas- ter events such as storms, or an earth- quake, that cause these kind of disrup- tions to food or energy supplies, not social engineering decisions. This current situation of inflation and energy insecurity is being driven by bad policy decisions. These policies are causing harm to Alaskans, across the country, and around the world. These policies aren’t even achiev- ing their stated goals of protecting the environment, and that’s the irony. To the contrary, these policies are accelerating environmental destruc- tion around the world. These policies are propping up dictatorships, sending jobs and wealth overseas, all at the expense of Americans and our industries. If the motive is to protect the en- vironment, then we must produce resources here. On the other hand, if the motive is to force Americans into policies or decisions against their will, then what they are doing makes perfect sense. That’s why it’s called social engi- neering. There’s no other way to describe it. Even now, during a crisis, the Biden administration is doubling down on its social engineering agen- da. They are still restricting drilling. They are still stopping access to the minerals needed for their green new world. They aren’t even accelerating permitting for other sources like hy- dro or nuclear. President Biden’s policies are dangerous to the world order by go- ing hat in hand to Venezuela, to Iran, to China, to beg for resources that we have her at home. If these policies continue, the out- comes are higher prices, more chaos, our national security at risk. In a further irony, these policies will cause us to fall behind in the re-
newable energy agenda. Without cheap commodities like nickel or cobalt, we can’t produce the energy storage or technology for re- newables to work as intended. From executive orders to agency ac- tions, Alaska has literally been sanc- tioned by our own federal government. That’s the only way to describe it. We didn’t ask for these policies. They didn’t ask us what we thought of these policies. These policies are being imposed upon us to our detriment. It’s also further evidence that goal isn’t to protect the environment when we are wrecking the environment at an
accelerated rate overseas. The goal is to fundamentally trans- form the United States into something supported by only a fraction of the pop- ulation that voted for Joe Biden. Because of these extremist policies, we’re in a fight for Alaska’s very sur - vival as a viable state. We’re in a fight for policies that ar - en’t just good for Alaska. We’re in a fight for policies that are good for the rest of the United States and for our allies. I will keep up this fight for policies that make sense, for prosperity and se- curity for our people. I know you will, too Thank you.
