Temple of Olympian Zeus Located just a short distant from the Acropolis, you can easily walk to the Temple of Olympian Zeus. Despite having been reduced to ruins only around a hundred years after its construction, a good chunk of this former colossal temple remains standing. Ancient Agora Learn about the birth of democracy at this his- toric site. Located to the northwest of the Acropolis, the Ancient Agora of Athens was a place of debate for some of the most famous Athenians, such as Socrates and Pericles.
