Superzvezda je počela godinu singlom „Flowers“, koji je od- mah postao hit. Pesma je debi- tovala kao broj 1 na „Hot 100“ i zadržala neprikosnoveni status na takmičarskom nivou skoro dva meseca. Majlina oda singl statusu prvo je raspalila društvene mre- že, jer Tiktok voli nered i dramu. Nakon objavljivanja pesme i soč- nog muzičkog spota početkom januara, fanovi su se okupili na platformama društvenih mreža da analiziraju tekst i fotografiju, u pokušaju da otkriju sve poruke upućene bivšem mužu, glumcu Lijamu Hemsvortu. The Grammy-nominated mu- sician began 2023 with a bang, marking one of the most remark- able chapters in her storied career. The superstar started the year with the single Flowers, which became an immediate smash hit. The tune de- buted at No. 1 on the Hot 100, on- ly to maintain its reign at the top of this chart for nearly two months. Representing her ode to singlehood, Flowers first grabbed the attention of the public because TikTok loves mess and drama. Following the re- lease of the song and juicy music video in early January, fans flocked to the social media platform to an- alyse the lyrics and imagery in or- der to unearth all the Easter eggs about the pop star’s ex-husband, ac- tor Liam Hemsworth. Despite all the hype around this sweet revenge dra- ma having abated, the song remains among the biggest hits of the year. Flowers served as a preview to the album Endless Summer Vacation, which was released in mid-March and entered the charts and peaked at No. 3 on the Billboard 200, which was slightly below expectations given the massive success of Flowers. Howev- er, while the album came close to achieving chart-topping status, the two subsequent singles released from the full-length album – River and Jaded – didn’t manage to achieve the same level of success. Amazing- ly, Flowers has continued to outper- form the more recently released sin- gles from Endless Summer Vacation to this day, maintaining its position at the top.
