Statuu Nikole Tesle donirala je Vlada Republike Srbije 2013. godine The statue of Nikola Tesla was donated by the Government of the Republic of Serbia in 2013
Laboratorija „Vardenklif“, Long Ajland Gde je Tesla sanjao o bežičnoj elektrifikaciji Laboratorija „Vardenklif“ je poslednja preostala istraživačka ustanova Niko- le Tesle, fizičara čije su smele ideje o elektricitetu dovele do razvoja gene- ratora naizmenične struje i radio-ko- munikacija.
Wardenclyffe Laboratory, Long Island Where Tesla dreamt of wirelessly electrifying the earth Wardenclyffe Laboratory is Tesla’s last remaining research facility, where the physicist’s bold ideas about electricity led to the development of alternating cu-
rrent motors and radio communications. Construction began on the brick labo- ratory and 187-foot transmitting tower in 1901, under the supervision of famo- us architect Stanford White. However, with Marconi’s success in signalling the letter “S” from England to Newfoundland in December that same year, the project lost momentum. In need of funding, Tesla was forced to disclose the laboratory’s true objective: to electrify the Earth by wirelessly transferring power to the en- tire globe. Like many of Tesla’s scientific contemporaries, J.P. Morgan was scep- tical of the project and withdrew his su- pport in 1903. The frustrated Tesla re- treated to his laboratory and flipped the switch for the first time on the massi- ve transmitting tower. Stories of the li- ghtning-like flashes that penetrated the night sky circulated amongst the towns- people, but the scientist gave no expla- nation for the experiments when asked the following day. Tesla was ultimately forced to sell Wardenclyffe. By 1917, the tower had been demolished and sold for scrap. It became a vacant monu- ment to Tesla’s “forfeited dream”.

However, the Wardenclyffe La- boratory was purchased in May 2013 by the Friends of Science East, Inc., with plans to turn it into a museum called the Tesla Science Center. By September of 2013, with the help of over a hundred volunteers, the group had secured the site for a sta- tue of Nikola Tesla donated by the Government of the Re- public of Serbia. For safety rea- sons, and to protect its historical
integrity, the site is closed to visitors, but you can see the Tesla statue and the large octagonal foundation of Tesla’s for- mer transmission tower, as well as the brick laboratory building de- signed by White. The Laboratory
is located on the corner of Te- sla Street and NY Route 25A on Long Island, just 65 mi- les from Brooklyn.
