He served it at the Cannes Film Festival, and until it makes it to our country, why not enjoy cocktails with any gin and chill the summer?
N eko vreme je tekila koju potpisuju slavna imena bila glavni trend – Džordž Kluni, „The Rock“, Kendal Džener i Kevin Hart su neka od imena koja su lansirala sopstvenu marku te žestine. Sad je na redu selebriti po- mama za džinom, a u tom taboru su Rajan Rej- nolds, Margo Robi, Ema Votson i sad Bred Pit. Uz već dobro poznate i prestižne etikete „Château Miraval“, vinarije čiji je vlasnik, Pit promoviše „The Gardener Gin“. Reč je o projek- tu koji je nastao zajedničkim snagama holivud- skog srcelomca, ugledne porodice Perin koja pravi vina i Toma Nikola, nekadašnjeg glavnog destilatora za „Tanqueray“, koji se aktivirao iz penzije specijalno zbog ovog projekta. Nikol ima iskustvo dugo četiri decenije u industri- ji prestižnih alkoholnih pića, a sa porodicom Perin Bred sarađuje i na još jednom zanimlji- vom projektu – brendu kozmetike na bazi pul- pe grožđa koja ostaje u proizvodnji vina. „The Gardener Gin“ se opisuje kao „Lon- don dry“, što podrazumeva da mu nisu dodate arome nakon destilacije. Dobija se od pšenice u bakarnim kazanima s tradicionalnom bota- ničkom mešavinom kleke, korijandera, sladi- ća i anđelika, uz naznake citrusa te ružičastog grejpa, limuna i gorke narandže. Za vreme tra- janja filmskog festivala u Kanu degustacija za slavne i odabrane organizovana je u raskoš- nom hotelskom baru tamošnjeg „Karltona“ a komentari su i više nego odlični, što je savrše- na priprema za ulazak džina na američko trži- šte planirano za jesen ove godine. U sklopu fe- stivala posebno se uživalo u koktelu „Secret garden“ koji se pripremao od „The Gardener Gina“, soka od limuna, soka od narandže, siru- pa od jagoda i belanaca.
V arious types of tequila “signed” by famous figures was the main trend for a while – with George Clooney, The Rock, Kendall Jenner and Kevin Hart being just a few of the celebrities that launched their own brand of this spirit. Now it’s the turn of the celebri- ty craze for gin, and this camp includes the likes of Ryan Reynolds, Margot Robbie, Emma Watson and now Brad Pitt. Alongside the already renowned and prestigious labels of Château Miraval, the winery that he owns, Pitt is also promoting The Gardener Gin. This pro- ject emerged as a joint effort of this Hollywood heart- throb, the distinguished winemakers of the Perrin family, and Tom Nichol, the former master distiller for Tanqueray who has come out of retirement especial- ly for this project. Nichol has amassed four decades of experience in the industry of prestigious alcoholic bev- erages, while Pitt is also collaborating with the Perrin family on another interesting project: a brand of cos- metics made from the grape pulp that’s a leftover of the wine production process. The Gardener Gin is described as a London Dry gin, which means that no aromas have been added af- ter the distillation process. Made from wheat and dis- tilled in copper stills, it contains a traditional botanical blend of juniper, coriander, liquorice and angelica, with hints of citrus and pink grapefruit, lemon and bitter orange. A tasting session for the famous and selected was organised during this year’s Cannes Film Festival at the luxurious Carlton Hotel bar, and the comments of those in attendance were beyond excellent, provid- ing the perfect preparation for the gin’s entry into the American market, which is planned for this autumn. A cocktail that was specially prepared and particularly enjoyed during the festival is the Secret Garden, which is made from The Gardener Gin, lemon juice, orange juice, strawberry syrup and egg whites.
