RITAM GRADA RHYTHM OF THE CITY

“e idea emerged during the period of the first lockdown, when we were unable to leave our hous- es. I had a need to travel and the only way I could do so was through music. at idea turned into a re- ality when we started working on arrangements together with Alek- sandar Sedlar, then later recorded the album Roots with the Double Sens ensemble. Nemanja says he’s lucky that he never feels any stage fright when he has to perform, because he always feels only excitement and joy over the concert. Mu- sic is his “oxygen and freedom”, and it has always been faithful to him. Just like everyone else, this violinist also has unfulfilled wish- es, but he doesn’t like discussing them much. “Dreams always exist. I try to live every day like it’s my first and last, to surprise myself and take risks in life. at’s why I’m now unable to single out anything spe- cial.” [laughs] Nemanja finds every return to Serbia emotional. It was 24 years ago that he departed for Paris, where he continued his journey to becoming a top musician with a worldwide career. “I always love coming to Bel- grade or Niš, so I can revisit the places I used to visit with those dear to me in my childhood. I truly feel like a citizen of our planet, but I never forget where I came from. I like to feel as though I belong wherever I find myself. I must ad- mit that today I also feel like a Pa- risian, because we headed there af- ter the bombing of 1999 and I love Paris because of many things: fam- ily, love, college, growing up... My base is there. On the other hand, I travel often and am increasing- ly realising that this planet is very small and that people in every cor- ner of the world have the same problems. Everyone has the same need to be happy and loved.”

AT TAŠMAJDAN STADIUM, 3 RD JULY I’m a citizen of the world, but I know where I’m from The reunion between the Belgrade audience and Nemanja Radulović after an eight-year break will bring a proper summer music treat to the Serbian capital

NEMANJA RADULOVIĆ ISN’T ONLY A GREAT MUSI CAL ARTIST in the Serbian con- text, but rather a world violin virtu- oso of global proportions. However, he remains a modest young man de- spite his huge fame and isn’t bur- dened by his popularity. For him, music is a love that provides him with energy in life and on stage, and every concert is special. For the first time since his spec- tacular 2015 performance in Bel- grade’s Students’ Park, this famous Niš native will perform a musical show in an outdoor setting, at Taš- majdan Stadium, on 3 rd July, un- der the organisation of the Belgrade Festivals Centre (CEBEF). All those fortunate enough to find them-

selves in Belgrade at that time will certainly long remember his perfor- mance, because Nemanja’s concerts are truly unforgettable... “I’m glad that we will again per- form and hang out with the Bel- grade audience. At this concert we will perform music that comes from various parts of the world. e Roots programme was recorded on our last album with the Double Sens ensemble for Warner Classics and I’m extremely happy that we will be able to present this latest pro- ject to a wider audience in Serbia. e tracks of his latest album were recorded in Belgrade during the lockdown and received great reviews from the world’s leading media.

Sledeći album, koji izlazi na jesen, biće posvećen Betovenu, i to će biti drugo izdanje za „Warner Classics“ His next album, to be released this autumn, will be dedicated to Beethoven and will be his second album for Warner Classics
