Gov. Mike Dunleavy has appointed Akis Gialopsos acting commissioner of the Alaska Department of Natural Resources. Akis has been very involved with AMA and Alaska mining for a number of years in previous roles and will be a welcome success to outgoing DNR Commissioner Corri Feige, who announced in June she was leaving the department to spend more Gialopsos named successor to Feige a g eme n t skills, and knowledge of resource development issues to run the depart - ment effectively,” Dunleavy said. Dunleavy has also appointed Alaska Department of Environmental Conser - vation Commissioner Jason Brune to the Alaska Permanent Fund Corporation’s Board of Trustees. Brune will replace out - going DNR Commissioner Corri Feige. Commissioner Brune is a past president of AMA and joined the Dunleavy Adminis - tration in December 2018.
