proximately 18 miles south of Juneau, and produces silver, zinc, lead and gold. The mine is 100 percent owned and op- erated by Hecla Mining Company and is the largest primary silver producer in the United States, producing 30 percent of the domestic supply of silver. Hecla is a proud longtime sponsor of the Alaska Min- ers Association. The AMA brings every sector of our indus- try together and is a proven advocate for miners, not only in the hallways of the Capitol, but in the general public as well. AMA meetings, both local and statewide, provide a much-needed forum for discussion of issues impacting miners, and its conferences are renowned for both technical excellence and camaraderie. Investing in the AMA provides exceptional value and the benefits it provides all of its mem - bers large and small are immeasurable.
