Designer Group has delivered a full MEP fit-out across five buildings of the new Guinness Open Gate Brewery at Old Brewer’s Yard, Covent Garden for long-term client Diageo. The 50,000sqft development has transformed a site with over 300 years of brewing history into a modern destination celebrating craft beer, gastronomy, retail and community engagement. The project integrates multiple historic buildings to create a working microbrewery alongside immersive visitor, retail and hospitality spaces. Designer Group’s scope included services supporting the brewery, two restaurants, a bar and retail space, with a strong focus on exposed MEP installations designed to complement the architectural vision. Working within existing structures required carefully- developed retrofit solutions, while ensuring the delivery of robust BMS and fire protection systems. Designer Group said the project, with its scale and complexity within a constrained and historic environment such as Covent Garden, required strong collaboration, coordination and technical innovation. www.designergrp.com Designer Group delivers MEP fit-out for Guinness

Sisk HQ sets green benchmark
Daikin Ireland’s cutting-edge VRV 5 climate control system has been retrofitted at the headquarters of John Sisk & Son in Citywest Business Campus, delivering exceptional energy efficiency, comfort and sustainability credentials. The transformation, carried out by over 150 Sisk staff and supply chain partners, boosted the building’s BER from D2 to A3, with Daikin’s VRV 5 system playing a pivotal role. at project design consultant Axiseng, said, “One of the main considerations was the need for a solution that would help us achieve an A rating. We also needed a heat recovery solution for one of the spaces in the building - and the VRV 5 offers that flexibility.” Liam Kirwan, DX Manager at Daikin Ireland, said, “By moving to R32 refrigerant, we’re reducing CO2 levels and enhancing the building’s energy performance, all while providing a comfortable environment for staff. The VRV 5 is the gold standard of the air conditioning industry.” www.daikin.ie
