With a reputation as a dedicated and reliable partner, Thermoparts Heating & Plumbing Supplies Limited is thriving 15 years after its establishment. A strong work ethic and focus on customer service have paid dividends for the Clondalkin business, which offers a wide portfolio of products from pipe and fittings to boilers, radiators, heating controls, kitchen equipment and bathroom suites. Thermoparts was founded on April 4, 2011, by Glenn Clabby and his wife Suzanne. Having previously worked as a sales representative in the plumbing and heating industry, Glenn decided to put his trade experience and network of client contacts to good use and set up his own business.
Researching the market for six months to establish connections with suppliers, Glenn then acquired a van and spent his first 18 months driving and collecting materials before heading out to sites. Soon after, he acquired Unit F10 in the Riverview Business Park and hired Thermoparts’ first employee. With the store up and running, Glenn began building supply relationships with contractors working on major projects across Ireland. Thermoparts’ first major customer was Winthrop Technologies, supplying Google, with its client base soon expanding to include Failte Ireland, Crumlin Children’s Hospital, St James’s Hospital and various pharmaceutical companies. In 2017, the company moved
to its current premises, a larger site within the same business park, at Unit B5. Achieving record turnover in 2018, the business took a hit during the pandemic but was able to survive as an essential service provider for HSE and returned to growth in subsequent years. “To be in business for 15 years is an honour and a privilege,” says Glenn. “I could not have achieved this milestone without the support of my customers and suppliers alike but, ultimately, I have been very fortunate to have found colleagues who are dedicated and supportive and follow my ethos when it comes to service and reliability. “Also, nothing would be possible without the support and input of my wife and fellow Director Suzanne and daughter Keifa.”
