BUFFER VESSELS
AVAILABLE FROM YOUR LOCAL MERCHANT, ZILMET’S ZIL-B BUFFER VESSEL ADDS WATER VOLUME WHILE ALSO CREATING THE STABLE OPERATING CONDITIONS HEAT PUMPS NEED TO PERFORM PROPERLY… Built for better heat pump behaviour
Heat pumps are moving firmly into the mainstream, but too many systems are still let down by what is happening around them. A unit may be correctly specified, but if water volume is too low or flow conditions are unstable, performance issues soon follow. That can mean short cycling, inconsistent operation and a system that never quite settles once commissioned. That is where buffer design starts to matter. Zilmet’s ZIL-B range is built not simply to add water volume, but also to help create the stable operating conditions heat pumps need to perform properly. Designed to maintain
minimum system volume, improve operating stability and reduce compressor short cycling, it gives installers a more considered answer to one of the most common causes of poor real-world heat pump performance. What makes ZIL-B particularly attractive to heat pump professionals is that it combines two important jobs in one vessel. As well as providing buffer volume, it also acts as a hydraulic separator, helping to decouple the primary heat pump circuit from the secondary heating circuit where flow conditions are not naturally aligned. On zoned systems, mixed emitter setups or applications where demand shifts throughout the day, that can make a significant difference to system behaviour. The practical thinking is there too. Premium polyurethane insulation helps minimise heat loss from stored water, while additional venting and drainage connections support easier servicing and maintenance. Zilmet’s ZIL-B buffer vessel.
