HOW TO PLANT BASEWELL ™
STEP 1
Grab the stem above the cartridge to avoid damaging the roots. This ensures your fingers won’t displace soil next to the roots during planting. This is critical to maximize root-to-soil contact.
STEP 2
Push the cutting into the media, with the top of the cartridge at soil level. Never use a pre-dibbled hole. This will cause air gaps between the roots and the media. Directly plant into the soil.
STEP 3
Drench plants thoroughly to ensure good root to soil contact. Plants should be protected with shade or misted for the first 3-5 days.
THINGS TO AVOID
1. Do not create a dibble hole , as it will leave too much air around the roots. Simply stick the cartridge into the soil like a dart. 2. Do not hold onto the cartridge . Instead, grab the stem above the cartridge so that it makes direct contact with the soil and you avoid creating space around the cartridge. 3. Do not simplymist like a traditional unrooted cutting . Soak in the plants so that the soil can penetrate the cartridge and adhere to the roots.
