to accept Christ then. “What will you do ?” was the question put to him by the worker, and he answered, “ I will accept Christ now.” Just then the engines were started and the worker was obliged to leave the ship hurriedly. A ship of the “ Oil Fleet” entered the harbor on her last stretch around the globe and was preparing to leave for a' second such trip, when three of our workers went on board. One of the young men stood waiting for an opportunity to speak to some one when the engineer passed by and he gave him a tract. As he noticed the nature of the message in print, he seemed to be open and ready for more of the truth. He was going to his cabin and was very anxious to have the worker fol low him, but did riot definitely speak out what was on his heart. Alone in the cabin, he confessed he was quite anxious and had been thinking about salvation a good deal lately. He then accepted Christ and said, “I was very anxious to have some one speak about it to me. I received a tract while here the last time, about eight months ago, and when I saw you give out tracts tonight, I was hoping you would come to my cabin so I could talk to you about it.” considering the responsibility which is upon us to give the Gospel to these boys and lead them to the Saviour.’ We are having over one hundred boys each Sunday now. The next thing on the program for them is a trip to the beach, which will probably take place within a few weeks. Do take this school upon your hearts and pray mightily that larger quarters may be had to accommodate the boys that are available when we have room for them. We cannot go out as we formerly did and invite' the boys to come down, for we haven’t room for any more than are coming. A young fellow on the way from Panama to San Francisco was approached by Mr. H------, a member of the Fishermen’s Club, and brought to the Lord. He was a bright young fellow and we believe truly con verted that night on board the ship. On being asked to pray after his surrender to the Lord, he said he could not pray in English, but could speak Spanish better. Believing that God knew Spanish he prayed to Him in his own tongue, unknown to the worker tut known to God. He confessed Christ to the other worker as he was in troduced to him and feeling that in order to keep in touch with him, we should leave a card with our address, a Fishermen’s Club card was given him with the name of the worker. Looking at the card, he said, “Why, I have been to the Club be fore. Mr. B gave me an invitation and I attended.” What influence the message he had heard that night might have had is not known, but we rejoiced that the fish that one worker seemingly failed to catch was caught by another fisherman a good many days afterwards, amid such strange circumstances. boys be allowed to grow up worse than heathen, because sufficiently commodious quarters were not provided ? “God for bid.” By prayer and effort let us pull to gether for the salvation of the newsboys and bootblacks of Los Angeles. W e had a very interesting and blessed time one evening not long ago. Just pre vious to our time for beginning the street meetings, a man came in and stood before a chart which we had hanging there, re peating, “Mystery, mystery,” One of the workers quickly gave him 1 Corinthians 2:14, “ The natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God—neither can
