13L is a bull that Dennis picked out for me. I called Dennis and told him what I was looking for and was very picky about what I wanted. This is the bull he said fit the bill for what I wanted. He is dark red, moderate framed, perfect feet, great disposition, easy fleshing, out of a perfect-uddered cow that Dennnis said is a top 5 cow on their ranch and exemplifies all the qualities that we wanted passed on to our future females. He calves are very soft sided, with great eye appeal and excellent feet, they do not sacrifice any pounds either for being moderate framed. His sons have great presence in the pen, and his daughters look to be outstanding females that we can’t wait to calve out! He did get hurt last winter so we we not able to use him this summer at all but we are hoping he is good to go for this coming summer as we love his calves and want more of them. If you are looking to build a herd and want to keep replacement females, he is another one on the list that you should be using. She is flawless, with a perfect udder and feet, very quiet dispositon even when she calves she is easy to handle and a great momma cow. She is straight and correct is every way and as deep and broody of a cow as they come without being some huge tank that is not effiecent. She is a model cow for what we like and what works on our ranch. L54 goes back to a really old bull from Ole Redland called Red Centurian C103. I had just got started in the Red Angus bull business and my Dad took me out to try to buy this bull at their sale. I didn’t get him bought and I was so disappointed! But I talked to Ole after the sale and he saw how disappointed I was and how hard I had tried to buy the bull so he said he had some semen on him and made a deal with me to help me out. I bought the semen and raised some great sons and GREAT females out of him for seveal years. Well a few years ago I was going through the tank and found a couple of straws left out of him so we put it into a couple of our best cows and L54 is the result of one of those matings. We are THRILLED to have him as he exemplifies all the great qualities his sire had as well as his dam. His first calf crop is outstanding and we are thrilled with the cross. He is moderate framed, excellent feet, great disposition, naturally thick and deep bodied. His calves have even more thickness and depth than he does, with a nice quiet demeanor to them. I can’t wait to calve out his daughters! If you are looking for cattle that will be easy keepers, great females, sire calves that will do good in the feedlot, I would highly reccomend his sons! I do believe this bull will have a large impact on our herd in the future as we plan on mating him to Infernos daughters this year.
