As applications open for the 2026 scholarships, Alice is encouraging women across hospitality and tourism to back themselves – even if they are unsure whether they are ready. “Just do it,” she said. “You can only learn something by getting stuck in there and giving yourself the opportunity. You don’t know, you might shine. “And if it doesn’t all work out as you planned, you learn something and can come back stronger. There’s certainly no harm in trying.” For Alice, success is not just about personal achievement, but about helping shape a stronger and more inclusive future for Tasmania’s hospitality and tourism industries. “I’d like to see businesses running and being commercially sound, but also leading the way as sustainable tourism businesses and giving back to the community,” she said. “I guess success for me is also working in the hospitality and tourism industry and supporting other women and lifting them up too.” To find out more about this year’s Women in Leadership scholarships, scan the QR Code.
