FAR-SIGHTED – PANORAMA TRAIL This leisurely circular walk through the Hildesheim Forest starts at the sports fields in Neuhof. Narrow paths lead you into the deciduous forest, which is bathed in light or pleasantly shaded, depending on the season. About half - way along the route, the panoramic trail opens up to reveal sweeping views across fields to the striking church towers of Hildesheim. In April and May, the rapeseed fields glow a rich yellow – perfect for a relaxing break in the heart of nature. CONTRAST-RICH – (R3) BÜNTE This varied circular tour starts at Bad Salzdetfurth's Kulturbahnhof railway station and takes you from the his - toric town centre through the forest, across clearings with magnificent views to the ‘Three Poplars’. The route leads back via the spa gardens with their saltwater baths and graduation towers. Nature, distant views and a cosy town atmosphere combine to create the perfect combination for connoisseurs. MAGICAL – LAVES CULTURAL TRAIL This 4.5 km circular route from Derneburg railway station takes you along idyllic paths through the former English landscape park of Derneburg Castle. Highlights such as the Doric temple, the pyramid mausoleum, the boathouse on Marienteich and the restored Laves Bridge over the Nette river invite you to explore. Passing a mill, ponds and the castle, you will return full of impressions. At the end of your tour, ‘Das Glashaus’ invites you to enjoy coffee and cake. WATER-RICH – INNERSTE-LEINE ROUTE Starting at the historic Sarstedt railway station, this 8 km circular walk takes you under a dense canopy of leaves along the Innerste river to the picturesque Sackpiepe near Ruthe, where the river flows into the Leine. The trail contin - ues through the Leine floodplains with their pretty flower meadows and wild blackberry bushes. The quarry pond near Schliekum is particularly suitable for bird watching before you return on well-maintained paths – ideal for families and nature lovers. CONTEMPLATIVE – BLACK HEATH HIKE From Diekholzen Town Hall, you will hike along quiet forest paths to Marienrode Monastery, a spiritual gem that is still run by Benedictine nuns today.
