Local Clubs Giving Back… The “Houston Area PMers,” a Local Club Chapter out of Houston, TX, assembled 25 Easter baskets filled with small toys and goodies for CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocates). CASA’s mission is to help the thousands of neglected or abused children inTexas get out of foster care and into permanent happy homes. These are children whose parents cannot care for them because of incarceration, drug addiction, or financial hardship. A small gift like an Easter basket can certainly brighten the day for a child in need.

Employees Celebrate Days of Sharing Last year, Precious Moments employees in Missouri and Illinois participated in “Days of Sharing” where they volunteered their time to a charity in their area. Carthage, MO employees volunteered at Feeding, Inc., a nonprofit organization devoted to feeding the hungry in the region. Part of Feeding Inc.’s outreach includes providing a hot meal each Wednesday afternoon, along with creating small boxes of food for people to take home. Precious Moments employees helped to serve the hot meal, carried boxes and trays for those who could not do so on their own, did some general clean-up, and packed grocery carts with take-home food. This organization’s goal is to end hunger and empower lives by providing healthy food and impactful programs to promote self-sufficiency. The clients who come to Loaves & Fishes are considered neighbors and friends: the single parent who just lost her job, low-income families with children, the unemployed and underemployed, disabled individuals, seniors, the chronically ill, at-risk teens, and the homeless. The founders of Loaves & Fishes operate a food pantry for grocery assistance and offer a home delivery program for homebound seniors without transportation. Learn more at www.loaves-fishes.org.
