representatives to re-design certain systems without sacrificing functionality.” Good communication Working on a large project as One Elmwood, and with so many subcontractors, for Absolute Technologies, keeping the communication channels open and flowing was crucial for a successful delivery. “From a project management point of view, the key is to promote good communication while working with end- users to understand how they will use the technology, with the design team about how our systems integrate with the fabric of the building, and with other trades to coordinate the installation,” Ian said, “It is also important to manage the partnership with our suppliers to identify and solve supply chain issues.” Gigs at Mandela Hall The Elmwood One building is very close to Ian’s heart. As a teenager, he

attended a number of great gigs at the old Mandela Hall, built in 1967. “It is very satisfying to see the new generation of students making use of the building and the technology we provided,” he said. “It will be great to witness the audience enjoying a show in the new venue, with world-class sound and lighting.” Great feedback Main MEP contractor NUGENT was more than pleased with Absolute’s work at the Students’ Union building. “The Absolute team were extremely attentive during all phases of the project, right through construction to commissioning, and interfaced really well with the NUGENT site team, the main contractor Felix O’ Hare and the client,” commented Richard Gilmour, Operations Director for NUGENT. According to Aodhan McCaffrey, Project Manager for NUGENT, Absolute Technologies team have been fantastic to work with. “From project start to completion, they have demonstrated
