We can always do good, but there are occasions, such as this, which come but once in a life time. ■ Thank G.od, there are yet blessed Marys in the world, sitting at His feet, drinking in His life, learning His will and pouring out upon Him the sacrificial offering of unbounded love. One of them was the Angel of Jehovah or the Lord Jesus manifested in another way to Abraham. Jonathan and David are a beautiful il lustration of friendship. 1 Sam. 20. Someone has said that every king has a great, close friend with whom he coun sels and advises. What a privilege to have Jesus for such a friend. Different Kinds of Friends.—No doubt Lazarus and Martha were friends B Jesus as well as Mary, but they were not as sympathetic friends. Three min isters were, discussing Mary and Martha , one day. One of them asked, “Which would you have chosen?” and one re plied, “Martha, because she could cook a good meal.” The other answered, “I would have chosen Mary because she had a loving, affectionate disposition.” Then the two turned to the third and asked, “Which one would you have chosen?” .He replied, “Martha before dinner and Mary after dinner,” showing that a true friend is one who sympath izes as well as serves.
