T HE K I N G ’ S B U S I N E S S were wondering how they would be able to roll away the big stone in the door of the tomb, but as they came nearer they saw a bright shining light, and then they began to be frightened, but they came still closer, and behold, the stone was rolled back from the tomb and a beautiful angel was sitting on the stone. The face of the angel was bright like lightning and his gar ments were white as snow. The soldiers became so frightened that they ran away. As the women looked into the tomb, they saw it was; empty; they could mot understand what had hap pened. But the angel said, “Be not afraid, ye seek Jesus, who hung upon the cross. He is not here, He is risen. Go your way; tell His disciples that He goeth before you, and ye shall see Him as He said unto you.” Oh, how happy these women must have been. Just a few moments before their faces looked so sad, and now they were smiling as they talked, and I think they must have almost run back to tell the disciples that the Lord was alive. But the dis ciples could not believe such wonderful news; it seemed too good to be true. Then as they met different ones and told that Jesus was alive, some of the disciples and friends remembered that Jesus told them He would rise from the dead. In time Jesus appeared to all His disciples, one by one, or two or three together. So at last they all knew that He was really risen from the dead. What a happy day for the dis ciples and friends of Jesus to know He was alive. Sometimes you know some one in our home whom we love very dearly dies, and it is hard for us to give them up. Approach.—Do you boys and girls re member a few weeks ago of seeing the little grains of wheat which I brought to class, and we planted them in the dirt in this box, and BEGINNERS covered them up? AND PRIMARY Now as we un- Mabel li. Merrill cover the box we do not see the grains of wheat, but these beautiful green blades shooting up out of the ground. The little grains did not seem to have any life in them, but by bury ing them in the ground, soon a little sprout*, and then a tiny shoot peeped out of the ground, and with the warm sunshine and water it has grown as we see it today. As I think of the wheat as we put it into the ground, I think of our story for last Sunday. You re member Jesus died on the cross, and tihen loving hands carefully drew out the nails in his hands and feet, wrapped His body in clean white linen, and laid Him away in the tomb. In front of the tomb a great rock was rolled, and soldiers were sent by wicked men who had killed Jesus, because they did not want His friends to take His body away.
