plans to create between 50 and 100 jobs. • Re-Match, an interna- tional recycler of artificial turf fields, has chosen Hanover Twp. in Luzerne County as its first North American recy - cling facility. Investing nearly $12.2 million in the project, Re-Match will create approxi- mately 40 new, full-time jobs. • HMTX Industries, a global manufacturer of building ma- terials, selected an existing 313,000 s/f building in Pittston for a new luxury vinyl tile manufacturing facility, creat- ing 115 good-paying jobs. Geisinger Continues Re- gional Investments! • In a joint venture with Acadia Healthcare, Geisinger announced two new facilities that are expected to create approximately 200 new jobs by 2024. The first facility will be a 73,000 s/f, 96-bed inpatient behavioral health facility to be built at 60 Glenmaura Nation- al Boulevard. A similar facility will be built in Danville and will open in 2023. Geisinger is investing $80 million for both facilities. • Geisinger is also convert- ing a former Walmart depart- ment store building into an establishment offering an ar- ray of medical services. This additional $80 million invest- ment will create more than 150 jobs. And now we finally know where the “CLOUD” is lo- cated…. • Talen Energy has begun construction of a zero-carbon Bitcoin mining facility in Sa- lem Twp. • I n a d d i t i o n t o t h e 180-megawatt Bitcoin min- ing facility, multiple data centers powered directly by Susquehanna’s two nuclear units are being constructed. Cloud computing operators like Amazon, Google, and Mi- crosoft are looking for low-cost, highly reliable, and carbon- free energy. The first phase of the $400 million project will bring nearly 1,000 jobs to the area during construction, then employ approximately 75-100 people. These are just a few of the many exciting projects that were highlighted this past year. Many more are planned in the coming months.
