My kids keep saying “No Cap”. At first I thought they didn’t like Captain Crunch, but it turns out it’s a slang phrase for “not lying, being truthful”. I couldn’t think of a better name for this bull. This guy doesn’t have any secrets, he’s exactly as he presents himself. 90 pounds at birth to a scale crushing 907 pounds at weaning, and he’s still rolling along at nearly 4 pounds a day since. I fully expect mama to reach Dam of Merit status in her first year of eligibility next year with her 106 weaning ratio on 3 calves. Homo Polled and Black, and he’ll probably be the first one to come over for a scratch in the pen. He’s also top 5% or better for WW, YW, Docility, CW, REA, $Gain, and FPI - No Cap!

Lot 47 would be a 3/4 brother to Lot 44. To really mix things up, I wanted to try two brothers from South America to see how consistent he would breed, so we flushed 230Z to Coleman World Wide. Watching these two brothers develop in the same pen has been a fun project the last three months. As they get older there are starting to be small differences that are showing up. Lot 47 seems to be stretching out while 44 is getting wider. This guy is winning the gain contest with a 4.80 ADG, so I’m guessing by sale day they were be incredibly close. If you’re looking for a pair of bulls to add consistency to a group of cows, I’d give these two a serious look!
