Winter Night Market on Intaka Island

Our Winter Night Market rocks! Most definitely one of the most popular events currently in Cape Town, the Winter Night Market on Intaka Island returned with a big bang as over a thousand visitors joined us on Friday evening, 27 May. Food and beverages for every taste were served, with heaters ensuring that the evening stayed warm and cozy. “We received amazing feedback that old and young thoroughly enjoyed the evening, so much so that our guests did not want to leave!” says Chris Blackshaw, CEO of the Century City Prop- erty Owners Association. “At 21:00 the crowd was asking for more music from the incredible musi- cians, Empire Alight.”

As a result of the first night’s record attendance, the market was extended for the June event, with additional food vendors added. Delicious deli items such as smoked meat and cheese by Begk’s and a large selection of breads by The Bread Baker Extraordinaire was for sale. A variety of cooked meals ensured that patrons could try and test from foods around the world. Taiwanese delicacies from Lin Family Eats, Chinese favourites were served by S&J Dim Sum and Saffron Eatery delighted with samosas, curries and other yummy, spicy meals. Wonderful aromas of pizzas, burritos, NYC style hot dogs, burgers, seafood and more filled the buzzing air as friends and families enjoyed the winter’s evening. To wash it all down, patrons enjoyed from wine to beers and bubbly, as well as coffees, soft drinks and smoothies. The Winter Night Market on Intaka Island takes place every last Friday of the month in the winter months from 16:00 to 21:00, which will be on the 26 May, 30 June, 28 July and 25 August 2023.
