After a two-year hiatus, Century City hosted the ever-pop- ular Century City Carols on Sunday 4 December in its new venue, Ratanga Park. Teaming up with Planetshakers Church once again, a festive evening full of fun activities for the kids, classic Christmas carols and spectacular views under the stars were enjoyed by all. With an overall cheerful atmosphere as children danced around, had their faces painted, played on the outdoor gymnasium and swings, while keeping an eye out for Santa. Families and friends found their spots on the lawn and by 18:00, most of best places were already taken. A spectacular pink sunset set the tone of the evening as the Planetshakers’ singers took to the stage to get the festivities going. “There was a wonderful spirit of joy and community,” says Marinus Boshoff, Safety & Security Manager, responsible for the logistics of the event. “We hosted approximately 2 000 people, which was a fantastic attendance! We are delighted that so many Capetonians from surrounding neighbour- hoods in addition to our own Century City community came out to sing along and we look forward to hosting a bigger and better event next year.”
