Guide to the Challenge

We also recognize:

• First-Time Participants: receive a special recognition certificate and patch. • New Record Holders: athletes setting a new State, Regional, U.S. or World Record receive a certificate and patch. • LION’S DEN: athletes receive a certificate, coin, and patch. The letterman jacket is presented later by a LION representative via a special public presentation at the athletes’ fire department. Mailing Awards: if an athlete misses the awards ceremony or does not retrieve their certificate and medal before departing it will be at their expense to have any medals, certificates, plaques, trophies, coins and/or patches mailed to them. Athletes must request these items within 30 days after the conclusion of the event or the items will be discarded. Replacing Awards & Other Items: because the Firefighter Challenge Championship Series was not a program of the First Re- sponder Institute prior to 2023 it is almost impossible to validate requests for items not received and/or that needs replaced. As such, we cannot re-issue certificates, medals or patches earned prior to 2023. If an athlete would like to purchase a current LION’S DEN coin or lettermen jacket, they may do so at the items retail cost + shipping.
