Hola Sober December

“I first met Amber Graziano over a year ago when Jeff Graham interviewed her on his BAC2zero Facebook Live. I fell in love with her story, her spirit, and her passion. I am proud to call her my friend. A talented athlete and a lover of alcohol beginning at the age of 14, Amber decided to keep and expand her love of long distance running and ditch the drink on May 26, 2020. She just celebrated her 40th birthday. Amber grew up in Livermore, California. She is a single mother of two young boys, Lucca, 6 and Rocco, 5. Amber was recently featured in Runner’s World Magazine, “After Getting Sober, She Found Her Purpose in Running” by Theo Kahler. I am always in awe of women who decide to get sober at such a young age considering the big and very consistent message that Big Alcohol drives home that you cannot possibly raise children without wine. So many of us exercised so that we could reward ourselves with a drink. I know that I celebrated many an exercise class or walk with a glass or two or three of wine. Before I put that glass down for good, my workout routine often consisted of sweating out alcohol so I could go drink again. Crazy making.
