He talked about things we hadn’t even thought about looking at. It was the kind of ‘above and beyond’ thing we do with our customers so they can see the value we can bring them and how we can help them solve problems. Needless to say, we love Sauer’s ‘above and beyond’ approach to customer service.” What converter wouldn’t want a vendor who’s not afraid to jump in and become a willing partner to solve a prob- lem if there was something else going on with an older or not so new machine in its plant? What converter wouldn’t want to discover new ways to fix the nagging things that limit uptime and wreak havoc with production schedules? What converter wouldn’t want to maximize productivity on the lifeblood of its business, their machinery? That being said, Mike Schaefer and Tavens Packaging & Display Solutions has no plans to purchase any new ma- chinery in the next year. “With our available capacity and capabilities at both facilities and with vendors like Torosian Tech Services, Copar and Sauer System, there’s no need to bring in another new machine,” says Schaefer. Until we get to a point where we’re at capacity and we need to increase speed or uptime, we’re super well-equipped for the future right now, and we’ll continue investing in our equipment, just not with new equipment.”
