SCHOOL COMMUNITY Teacher Appreciation Gift Policy
Heritage Christian Academy recognizes the parents’ desire to give gifts to the teachers during the school year for birthdays. These gifts may be organized through the Room Moms, and it would be helpful if these were collected in the month of the birthday. Teacher Birthdays may be celebrated with a cake or class treat. Parents may give individual gifts to teachers if they choose. Teacher Appreciation Week will take place each spring and will be organized by the Room Moms Committee. No collections should be made. Student Birthday Celebrations Each classroom will have its own way of celebrating student birthdays. Please check with your child’s teacher on the method for celebration in their class. If you wish to invite classmates to a party outside of the classroom setting, please call or mail invitations to the classmate’s home rather than passing out invitations at school. Class Parties Parties are intended for students of each classroom only, due to space limitations; please arrange child care for siblings. See your classroom teacher for class party times and guidelines.
Opportunities for Involvement Connections Team
The Connections Team is a ministry whose purpose is to promote Christian education by fostering a sense of community and unity among Heritage parents through supporting various school events and providing fellowship opportunities. The Connections Team publishes a separate calendar of social events, which are cleared with the Principal in advance. Notification of events are sent home with students, sent out via an all-school email, and/or sent out via the school’s electronic weekly newsletter. There are two types of events: School events that Connections supports or assists, and Social/Community Service events. Some events are: Meet the Teacher, Back- to-School Night, Grandparents’ Day, Moms’ Morning Mixer, Parent-Child events, and Used Uniform Sale.
