great value to me. All my life I have been a lover of wine. Now if I stop drinking I will be casting aside something that has been a serious injury to my body. Moreover, if I believe on Jesus, He will forgive all my sins and cleanse my soul; thus both my body and my soul will receive this great good. Truly these are blessings of incomparable worth, and so I am determined, whatever comes, from this day to the end of my sojourn on this earth to trust in Jesus as my Savior.” - ; Some way it touches one’s heart deeply when men and women of such advanced years, years of dense darkness, and in many cases years that have been spent in earnest but vain seeking for the light; when such men and women at last have the light brought to them and accept it, and begin to walk in it, is it not glorious ? But what shall we say of the young? Young men and women with a. large portion of their earthly life still before them, with all its possibilities for the service of God and their fellow men, when they see the light and come into it in their early years, is it not doubly glorious ? The last entry in the month’s report now under review tells us of a Mr. Suen, a successful young druggist only nineteen years of age. One evening Mr. Suen said to our workers: “I have listened to your preaching for several evenings, and I must confess that your arguments are un answerable. It matters not to what class of society a man belongs, there is not a man on earth who can truthfully say that he has no sin. Not only so, but there is no pos sible way by which by his own efforts he can rid himself of sin and obtain eternal life; therefore it is of supreme importance that he put his trust in the saving grace of the Savior, Jesus Christ. As for myself, I have put away all doubts and sincerely believe in Him.” For Christ and for China, Truly your fellow-servant, Changsha, Hunan, China. FRANK A. KELLER.
Another man of about the same age, a Mr. Chen, the proprietor of a drug store, came under the influence of the Holy Spirit while the evangelists were preaching, and afterwards said: “I never knew that Jesus was a Savior of men. I thought that He was nailed on the cross for some serious sin that He had committed; now I have learned from you that He was without personal sin, and that He Who was sinless died for those who have sins, the righteous for the unrighteous, truly a most marvelous thing! I have come to see also that I myself am a sinner, a fact that I never realized before, and also that apart from Him there is no salvation; therefore I do truly re pent, and I trust in Jesus to redeem me from my sins.” O ther I nteresting C ases At a place called Peh-Mi our evangelists called on Mr. and Mrs. Chou Mei Tsai, a religiously inclined and ve.ry earnest couple. For years they had engaged in long periods of fasting and had been zealous worshipers of Buddha in their search for eternal life. Mr. and Mrs. Chou were such fine people and so evidently sincere in their search for the life that is life indeed, that our evan gelists spent considerable time with them, seeking to lead them to a saving knowledge of Jesus Christ, Who alone is “the Way, the Truth and the Life.” Before they parted Mr. and Mrs. Chou said to them: “It seems absolutely certain that we have been treading a pathway of error. We now see that to try to atone for our sins by our own efforts and works is utterly vain. He Who forgives sins is the Lord; He Who blots out sin is also the Lord ; there are no arguments that can overthrow this truth.” After this con fession the little group knelt in prayer and Mr. and Mrs. Chou surrendered their hearts and lives to the Lord Jesus Christ. A restaurant keeper by the name of Rao, after listen ing to the Gospel and becoming satisfied as to its truth and power, said to the workers: “This has been a day of
