Best CSR and Sustainability Initiative, in association with Cesim Business Simulations WINNER: Zhongnan University of Economics and Law, China for Compassionate Futures Nexus (CFN) With direct reference to several of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, the school’s CFN unites five initiatives that seek to tackle some of the world’s most pressing problems, including rural education equality, disaster relief and sustainable development in the community.
Best Culture, Diversity and Inclusion Initiative
WINNER : Fortune Institute of International Business (FIIB), India for Women in Leadership FIIB’s efforts to champion women in leadership and foster an inclusive environment through a roster of progressive initiatives and policies are reflected in strong female representation on the school’s board (40 per cent), faculty (62 per cent) and senior staff (50 per cent).
Entrepreneur of the Year Award, in association with BlueSky Education WINNER: Marco Farina, Polimi Graduate School of Management, Italy for Logol Applying cloud and AI- based solutions to the legal industry requires not only vision, but also resilience and commitment to overcome regulatory obstacles and scepticism. Logol’s legal tech software Elle has met this challenge and established itself as a market leader in Switzerland, with successful expansion into Germany, Italy and the UK.
Start-Up of the Year Award
WINNER: Karl Baz, University of Bradford School of Management, UK for Deep Blue An AI system that provides real-time monitoring and rapid response capabilities to avert potential drowning incidents. Deep Blue’s water safety technology can also keep tabs on the ratio of adults and children to lifeguards, as well as detect patterns of weak swimming. Interim dean of the School of Management Saeed Akbar ( pictured ), accepted the award on Karl’s behalf.
AMBA Student of the Year Award, in association with GMAC WINNER: Wael Abdin, Cardiff Business School, Cardiff University, Wales Cardiff Business School’s first blind executive MBA student has had a hugely beneficial impact on the programme, inspiring improvement in course delivery, enriching class discussions with his unique perspective and showcasing an unwavering determination and resilience, alongside an exceptional commitment to academic excellence.
