AMBA & BGA CEO Andrew Main Wilson unveils the MBA Directors Club, an initiative aimed at creating the ultimate network for members to garner support and inspiration from their peers and develop mutually beneficial international partnerships

very year we brainstorm new ideas to further add value to customers who are members of our AMBA & BGA family. Our latest initiative is the formation of the MBA Directors Club, which is free to join for anyone who holds the position of MBA director. The official launch will be at our Global Deans & Directors Conference, being held this year in Berlin at the stylish Intercontinental Hotel from 18th-21st May. The club will be managed by Debbie Kemp, our head of membership, who joined us at the beginning of this year from Kent Business School, where she gained 10 years of valuable experience as an MBA director herself. Most MBA directors are in their role for only a three-year period and therefore we recognise there is a valuable need for engagement and knowledge transfer. This is to help new directors to get up to speed as quickly as possible and then swiftly succeed in their role, so they can leave a legacy of improvement if and when they move to another institution. E

We plan to support MBA directors in the following ways : • MBA directors’ induction run by our membership and accreditation team to transition new members of faculty into this role • Specialised MBA breakout workshops at each of our conferences to focus on issues they are interested in exploring • Closed networking/discussion space on our new membership forum to carry on conversations in between in-person events (sign up at www.campusgroups.amba‑bga.com ) • Access to Ambition magazine in print (view the archive at www.amba-bga.com/amba/business- schools/online-ambition ) and the online content hub ( www.amba-bga.com/insights/search ) to promote research articles and share stories of best practice • Introduction of an MBA Director of the Year Award , voted for by their peers, at our annual Excellence Awards to celebrate inspiring faculty in this role. The first winner will be announced at our next gala dinner in January 2026

We believe that MBA directors will appreciate the opportunity to discuss three key current issues in particular. Namely, the cost-effective recruitment of students, both domestic and international; understanding and implementing the latest and most innovative trends and ideas in programme development; and the identification and creation of mutually beneficial international partnerships. I believe the club will be an extremely valuable ideas-and-best-practice exchange for these topics and many others. For further information, please feel free to contact Debbie Kemp directly at d.kemp@amba-bga.com . Meanwhile, we have created an excellent programme of presentations, discussions and networking for this year’s annual conference in Berlin. These range from keynote presentations from several of the world’s most prestigious business school deans, to showcasing new ideas in technology and programme development.
