he looked into my face,. I again told him how to receive Christ, and then I began to pray while he followed me in prayer, and then accepted Christ defin itely— (he knew it and he showed it in his face). Thus another soul was de livered from Rome’s grasp. Some Remarkable Street Work During the past month, Mr. Harry Rimmer took us to a mine some eighty miles distant, where there is a large colony of Mexicans working. Our first meeting was on the street. Soon.we had a large gathering listening to our singing, after which we preached the un searchable riches of Christ. At the close we asked how many wanted to be saved, and accept Christ. Hands went up until there were nine. Then we asked the men if they would come to a house (that was opened for the purpose) and do real business. The nine inen hav ing entered, we gave them fu rth e r'ex planation, after which all knelt and, one by one, each confessed himself a sinner and accepted Christ as Savior and thanked God. Oh, how the angels in heaven must have rejoiced, for surely it was heaven in our souls that night. After th a t we had another meeting in the pool room. There were only about fifteen there. We sang and preached again, after which we gave the invita tion, and one man immediately said, “I want to receive Christ.” I asked him to come forward and explained the way a little more clearly to him, after which we both prayed. I asked him if he was saved, and he said th a t he was. Then we asked him to confess before his fel low men, which he gladly did, and he was very happy. Thus God is blessing and working among the Mexicans. Please pray for these new converts, that some of them may be called as workers for the Lord. I JNO. 1:7 DID IT Mr. Wesley said to a highwayman who had demanded his money: “The time may come when you may regret the course of life in which you are engaged. Remember this: ‘The blood of Jesus Christ cleanseth from all sin.” ’ Years after, he was met by the same man, who told him th a t he had been led to Christ through the influence of th a t verse.

were stirred by the Gospel messages and the testimonies of their Hebrew Christ ian brethren, though not fully persuaded to take the decisive step. These need our constant prayers as they face the consequence of their acceptance and confession of Jesus Christ. a» SPANISH DEPARTMENT Robert H. Bender, Supt. “Oh that men would praise the Lord for His wonderful works unto the chil dren of men.” Worshipping the Wafer God F irst of all we desire to have the reader know something of the fallacy of the teaching of Roman Catholicism in order th a t you may know how to pray for these deluded, ignorant people. While dealing with a young man and urging him to receive Christ as his Savior, he said that from a child up he had received Christ. I asked him to ex plain, and he said th a t in the mass he had received the “host,” meaning the wafer god. (Here was a chance to ridi cule and make fun of him, but this will never do if one really wants to win a Roman Catholic). We then asked him where he had received it and he said in his stomach. I said to him, “I do not mean that, but have you received Christ in the heart?” He- never thought of it that way before. Then we asked him if he knew he had salvation, peace and joy, and he confessed he had not, so we con tinued to explain more about receiving Christ. He was deeply convicted but was afraid to take the step because his mother was a devout Catholic. He said, “Not now but next Sunday.” O, the de ception of the Roman Catholic Church. Her teachings are so deeply rooted that it is almost impossible to make the peo ple understand. Another Rescued From Rome Another case which recently came un der our notice was a young man in the hospital upon whom we were asked to call. This was a Spaniard who also was soundly doctrinated in the Roman Cath olic faith, and in the course of our con versation he said, “How can I be saved?” and “How can I receive Christ?” We explained over and over again and each time he asked the same question. At last the light began to dawn in his benighted and sinful heart, and gradually he began to raise him self until he was sitting up in bed. With intense earnestness in his face as
