THE K I NG ' S BUS I NES S to be the greatest. Jesus asked them what they had been talking about while they were on the way to Peter’s home. Now, boys and girls, do you think they all1spoke a t once and answered Jesus? No, indeed, they all hung their heads in shame, and no one answered a word. Jesus knew they did not understand what He had told them before, and so He calls a little child to Him. The child came quickly when Jesus called, and He reached down and took the child up in His arms. Then He talked to the disciples and told them that unless they put away their selfish thoughts which made them each want to be the great est, they could not belong to His king dom. Then He told them th a t who ever would be willing to always obey Him like the little child, would be the greatest in His kingdom. Little chil dren who belong to Jesus love Him and tru st Him, and know He is going to take care of them, just as the little birdies opened their mouths and ate just what the mother bird gave them, knowing that she would not give them anything th a t would harm them, for she loved them. (show open Bible.) th a t He cares even for the birds, and He cares more for us than for the birds. We all love to hear stories about David, who was a shep herd th a t took such good care of his father’s sheep, that God chose him to be king over his people. As David cared for the sheep, he thought of God’s care like a shepherd’s care. One day David wrote a song, ■or psalmJ which has been such a comfort to so many of God’s people. It is almost the very first that little children learn. The very first words of this song tell how David trusted God’s loving care. These are the words of our memory verse and we will say them together. We all want a good many things, food and clothing, homes and schools, books, and more things than we have-time to talk about. David did not, say what he wanted, he only said, “I shall not want.” He meant that he would not miss having every thing th a t was really good for him, be cause God was his shepherd. If we tru st God’s care, we shall not want any good thing. Closing Prayer.—.Jesus, tender shep herd, keep us very close to Thee. ■ PIP : 15-20; Lu. 1 7 :3 ,4 ; Eph. 4 :31,32; Col. and took him by the throat, saying, Pay me th at thou owest.
